The Catacombs Bar was a favorite local dive bar for 45 years in downtown Boulder. Located in the basement of the Boulderado Hotel at 2115 13th Street, it was opened in March 1969, and obtained the city’s first liquor license after a city-wide liquor ban was lifted. Cozy, warm, dark and perfectly “divey” was how lots of folks described it. It was closed after its decades-long run in March of 2014.
